Another New Minibus Donated To Wigan Youth Zone
Wigan Youth Zone are one of our very favourite local institutions and as founder supporter, we’ve been a proud patron of this vital resource from the time when it was just an idea. It’s been amazing to see what the incredible team at WYZ have achieved over the years and the lives it has transformed along the way. With over half a million visits to the centre since inception, WYZ is truly one of the jewels in Wigan’s crown.
This week it was with great pride, we visited Wigan Youth Zone in order to donate another brand new, top of the range minibus, supplied fully liveried, equipped with a towbar and of course free of charge for this worthy institution.
The Ford Transit Tourneo takes some beating. It’s a nine seat minibus based on the all conquering Transit Custom, one of our most popular vans for hire. This Tourneo is fully loaded with alloy wheels, metallic paint, all round parking sensors and automatic gearbox, privacy glass, front and rear air conditioning, 9 full leather seats, Sat-Nav and a whole lot of other features. This is a minibus Wigan Youth Zone can be proud to arrive in, wherever their outbound trips take them and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Dropped off in time for Covid-19 restrictions to be lifted, our very own Managing Director drove the minibus to Wigan Youth Zone personally, accompanied by our Sales and Rental Executive Bethan Hurst and our Marketing Manager Chris Ellison. While dropping off the van, our trio took the opportunity to stop for a chat and a brew at Wigan Youth Zone’s extensive purpose built facility and found out all about how innovative Wigan Youth Zone had been during lockdown. Within 72 hours, they’d created a full virtual programme for centre users, allowing young people across the borough and beyond to stay engaged with the Youth Zone. Despite not being able to have anyone physically present, WYZ were still able to provide young people with entertainment, activities, education and someone to talk to throughout a year and a half of lockdown. Just another way in which this fantastic organisation goes the extra mile in support of young people.
With most restrictions dropping away in a few days time, Wigan Youth Zone will once again be able to resume their full programme of activities as they nurture young talent, provide support of all kinds and opportunities for local youngsters. The new minibus will assist with numerous outbound journeys and residential trips, giving kids from across the borough access to events and opportunities far beyond the boundaries of the Wigan Borough.
