Westwood Birthdays & A Wonderful Win For Wigan
This week we’ve had a handful of Birthdays to celebrate at Westwood one of which was a ‘big one’ being a 21st. Jack, Cathy and our very own Managing Director Chris Melling all celebrated another successful lap around the sun, so a bit of a celebration was in order and there’s nowhere better to host a celebration than the matchless facilities, on a match day at the DW Stadium.
We know what you’re thinking, but you’d be wrong. It was not, in fact, despite his Peter Pan-like youthful looks, the 21st birthday of our MD, (he’s had one or two extra years celebrate since) it was our young Jack Cowan who you’ll have seen at our Wigan branch who turned 21 this week. He’s traditionally old enough to be granted ‘the key to the door’, but he’s already been helping many of our customers with the key to their next drive for some time now!
Taking advantage of a slightly earlier finish at the office, some of the members of team Westwood took a trip to the DW in order to celebrate in style at the stadium’s conferencing facilities and to watch the mighty ‘Tics take on Fleetwood Town.
And what an evening it was! The events team did their usual spectacular job of providing the finest hospitality you’ll find this side of anywhere and Wigan’s home team did their usual spectacular job of providing a crowd pleasing 3-0 victory against the visiting Fleetwood side taking us to 6 games in a row unbeaten.
With a veritable banquet laid on and more than a few drinks to celebrate the birthdays, the evening kept getting better and better.
After the match, Jordan Jones, the game’s man of the match popped up to meet and greet the birthday delegation, answer some questions and join the party. Chris was presented with a spectacular cake as well as a signed ball and Jack was presented with a replica shirt, bearing his own name and number, which Jordan presented to him personally and also signed. He’s had the best of Birthdays!
We’d like to express our thanks to Greg, Zach, Kerry, Brad, Martin, Lorraine and Lisa for always looking after us and providing such a spectacular welcome each and every time. Our thanks also to Latic’s own photographer Bernard for providing some of these wonderful mementos of a great evening. We appreciate, as ever, a fantastic performance from our dauntless lads on the pitch, especially when they deliver such a spectacular victory.
Carlsberg don’t make birthday parties, but if they did…… you know the rest!
