Hyundai has been ranked as the most reliable car according to a recent J.D. Power survey in July, 2018. Falling far below the industry average, are Land Rover, Audi and BMW.
J.D Power Survey: Unreliable Technology Pertains To More Problems In Premium Vehicles Than Volume Vehicles
Hyundai has been voted the most reliable car a few times before. Emerging in 2000, the Hyundai has had several comparison and automotive sites hailed as coming out top. Key findings in the survey include:
Failure to start is still the most common problem
Bluetooth connectivity issues are in the top 6 problems for drivers in the UK
Technology problems are common after 1-3 years
How was the most reliable car ranked in the survey?
The basis of the J.D Power survey measures the amount of problems experienced per 100 vehicles for each brand. This study is now in its fourth year of running. A few automotive and news outlets have been giving the Hyundai good reviews since 2011.
Where did it go wrong for the likes of Audi, Fiat and BMW?
“Premium brands are incorporating autonomous driving. Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and automatic braking are implemented into their models,” Josh Halliburton, Head of European Operations at J.D. Power.
So what does this mean for premium brands? Take a look at the results below. The premium brands have more faults per 100 vehicles. Furthermore, this is due to the development in driving comfort and functionality.
And here are the ranking results per category for each vehicle in the J.D Power survey 2018
