Who Are Chorley Youth Zone?
CYZ are a charity organisation based in Chorley. In just 11 weeks, 4,000 young people have signed up as members. Since opening in May 2018, they seek to create a fun environment for young people to enjoy themselves. They are there for the purpose of promoting happy and healthy positive young children. They run several workshops for employability, sport, art, drama and music.
Why These Charities Are So Important To The Community
It’s important to realise that there are more than 15,000 8-19 year olds in Chorley alone. Additionally, over 13% of this number are in poverty. Furthermore, there are more than 14% obese children in Y6 (CYZ). They aim to involve the children in the development of the Youth Zone, as it’s specifically for them. The workshops enable an enjoyable and safe space to spend leisure time in the Chorley community. Chris Melling, Managing Director, believes it is fundamentally important to give young people the opportunity to excel. Westwood Motor Group loves giving back to the local community. By enabling a safe leisure environment for young people to build and develop life skills and tools, it equips them with a zest for knowledge. Ultimately, the workshops guide young people to discover hidden talents and maybe even uncover their future career path. 
Where To Visit Chorley Youth Zone
You can find CYZ on Chapel Street in Chorley. It’s open 7 days a week and you can attend for just 50 pence per visit. It’s open to 8-19 year olds, as well as up to 25 years for those with disabilities.
