Westwood Ladies Hit The Town
The motor trade is a notoriously male dominated industry, so we’re very happy, to once again be industry leaders in having so many talented ladies in a variety of roles, in particular in our most senior leadership team. With so many ladies on board, it was only a matter of time before there was the inevitable Westwood Ladies Night and our MD Chris Melling made a point of encouraging our ladies from both our branches to have a social night out together to bond as a team, let their hair down and spend a night out NOT talking shop.
Our team at different branches don’t get to see each other all that often, sometime being merely voices on the end of a phoneline and when conversations are necessarily short due to everyone being phenomenally busy all the time, having an evening out to socialise and relax is important and serves to build some camaraderie.
The Westwood Ladies Take Westwood Glamour To Liverpool
Getting all dressed up with no-where to go simply wouldn’t do, so tickets to see Blood Brothers at Liverpool Empire Theatre had been booked months in advance and it was great to see the gang all dressed up at our Wigan Head Office and ready for a big night out in Liverpool.
Naturally we wanted to make sure our Ladies got to and from their night out is safety and in style, so what else could they travel in but one of our own 8 seat Mercedes Vito Minibuses, expertly chauffeured by our very own Robert, who had given up his evening to make sure our Ladies could enjoy a worry free night out.
The stage was set (pun fully intended) for a great night out at the theatre!
But First…. Coffee
A fancy coffee and a quick bite to eat started off the evening as the Westwood Ladies arrived in Liverpool, followed in short order by them making their way to the historic Empire theatre and watching the show which everyone present thoroughly enjoyed. Especially with a drink or two!
It wouldn’t be a Westwood night out if it ended there though. Following the show, our glamorous team headed over to Bella Italia for some fine dining and a civilised conversation about the production quality, the moving nuance of the casts pefromance and the literary genius of the scriptwork. Just kidding, they ate their fill and then hit the nearest Irish bar for drinks and karaoke!
There ain’t no party like a Westwood party and our Ladies showed Liverpool just how it’s done! Dancing into the wee hours and performing some numbers on the microphone which were more enthusiastic than melodic, but it’s safe to say they were the belles of the ball, making themselves known wherever they went!
Despite the late hour, Robert heroicly retrieved the merrymakers, patiently endured the ‘singing’ as we’ll generously call it and saw them all safely back to Wigan after their well deserved Westwood Ladies night out. Our MD Chris Melling very kindly insisted on footing the bill for the entire evening. When his statement arrives he’ll see that our ladies worked up quite a thirst on their Liverpool Ladies Night – that’s going to be some bill, but we’re delighted our fabulous Ladies had such a good time!
