Wigan Vs. Covid 19 – Proud To Play Our Part
Coming Together To Fight Covid 19
As a proud Wigan based car hire, van hire and vehicle sales business, we’re always happy to do our bit to help out the community and the Covid 19 crisis is one that’s affected pretty much everyone, either directly or indirectly. A few weeks ago it was our absolute pleasure to donate a pair of our vans to John Harker MBE and his team as well as introducing extra discounted rates for key workers at this difficult time. In the weeks since however, the power of local community spirit has been self evident and there have been some true Wigan Borough heroes going above and beyond to help out those who need it most. Today, our Finance Director Laura attended a (fully socially distanced) gathering at Molyneaux House – the Wigan Borough Armed Forces Community HQ, which is being used as a hub for the coordination and distribution of much needed supplies across the borough. Inside were tables fully laden with essential supplies, much, if not all of which has been generously donated by numerous businesses and organisations. We overheard some truly inspiring and humbling conversations about the efforts made to feed the self isolating, house those without a roof over their heads and provide emotional and mental health support to veterans, many of whom are especially in need at this difficult time.

Alongside the vans we’d donated some weeks ago, were another two Westwood liveried vans – sponsored fleet vehicles brought along by our friends at Wigan Athletic who have also been joining the effort to support the borough during this difficult time. All waiting to be filled up to transport goods to where they’re needed most. 
When Wigan Council, Local Businesses and Community Support groups all coordinate their efforts to do some real good in the borough, the result is something spectacular and we’re so glad, proud and humbled to be part of this wonderful coordinated campaign of support to bring supplies, services and assistance to those who need it most at this difficult time. We’re in this together and we’ll win this together. Wigan’s heroes, we salute you.
