From Wigan To The World – The Cherry & Whites Go Global!
There can’t be a Wiganer anywhere who wasn’t glued to the historic Wigan Warriors vs. Warrington Wolves game. The 1st of March 2025 saw two Northwest titans take the sport to Las Vegas, Nevada, in the spectacular Allegiant Stadium for what will surely be the first of many matches in North America.
Many dedicated Warriors fans made their way across the pond to be part of this landmark event and watch the match first hand, thousands more will have been watching live on Sky Sports and while the Wolves proved worthy rivals, our proud Warriors earned a worthy victory over their Warrington neighbours.

As long term supporters and sponsors of Wigan Warriors, we were exceptionally proud to see our company branding displayed so prominently on the team’s kit, on every screen in the Allegiant Stadium. The Westwood logo was beamed around the world via Sky Sports, a very proud moment indeed for our fiercely local company to be part of our Great Northern Town being so suddenly and deservedly prominent on the world stage.
Our very own Managing Director, Chris Melling made the trip and watched the game first hand. He’s expressed great pride that via his company, which he’s grown from a small forecourt to the behemoth it is today, that he’s able to sponsor both of Wigan’s top teams: Wigan Athletic AND Wigan Warriors. A fan’s dream come true. To witness and be a part of this historic emergence of our team and our town on the World stage is truly the stuff dreams are made of. A sentiment we all wholeheartedly agree with!
Our congratulations to Wigan Warriors for not only being such great ambassadors for the game at a time when the whole world was watching, as well as our comiserations to Warrington Wolves, who also put on a fine display. What’s absolutely blown us away though are the messages of support sent to US. We know there were hundreds of thousands watching the game, but for people to take time out to congratulate Westwood on our prominent brand presence at an international venue has truly humbled us. We’re incredibly proud to be part of our very own Wigan punching well above it’s weight, truly a town amongst towns!
